Clubs that specialized in cutting-edge jazz would not normally have booked Latin bands. But after Bebop began to mix with Afro-Cuban sound, the clubs opened their doors to the new fusion. While many audiences were turned off by the complexities of Bebop, the danceable rhythms of Cubop pulled the fans back in.
